Songwriter and New Jersey native Katie Henry might have started out banging on doors, braving New York’s blues clubs, playing piano until her fingers bled, and winning over the city one show at a time. But lately, the multi-instrumentalist has raced through career milestones at a rocket pace.

With fiery guitar chops and natural charisma, she was soon a New York City jam scene favorite. Those who were there, remember songs of many genres, blues, rock, R&B, funk, pop, soul, and country, and her stage presence evoked Bonnie Raitt and Janis Joplin at their most magnetic.

Warming the stage for Katie is blues-rocker Dustin Douglas, performing solo, prefacing his full-band appearance at Roy’s Hall on June 8th with The Electric Gentlemen.

Inspired by the northwest hills of NJ in the shadow of the Appalachian Ridge, Water Street creates a new version of Americana, mixing soulful acoustic melodies with rugged rock and roll bursts, enticing bluegrass mandolin riffs, and a driving rhythm section with some hints of funk which combine to create a uniquely new, Pop/Americana/Roots sound.

Close Drive is an indie folk band from the suburbs of Philadelphia. Writing at the intersection of traveling, love and ambiguous philosophies.

Yarn has played Roy’s Hall annually for the past twelve years… sometimes twice a year. Yarn played the last live show at Roys’ before the big dark of Covid and played the very first show when we reopened 19 months later. Our audience can’t get enough of this energetic band and their constantly evolving repertoire. “We tell stories, live and in the studio, truth and fiction” singer/songwriter Blake Christiana insists. “We don’t always opt for consistency. There’s a different vibe onstage from what comes through in our recordings. There’s a difference in every show as well, you never know what you’re going to get.”

Albert Lee is one of the most respected and renowned guitarists in music history, having worked with The Everly Brothers, Eric Clapton, Emmylou Harris and The Crickets over his long and illustrious career. The British-born country-rock artist started his career during the emerging rock ‘n’ roll scene of sixties London, when he swapped bands with the likes of Jimmy Page and Chris Farlowe.

As a duo, Larry Campbell and Teresa Williams have released albums that showcase their musical chemistry and the depth of their artistry. James McMurtry stands out even among the Lone Star State’s finest songwriters, a community of artists known for the local color that saturates their story-songs. Much like his old man, the late novelist Larry McMurtry, he’s a fiction writer rather than a confessionalist: He just so happens to choose heartland rock as a vehicle for his tales of Americans at their lowest, searching for a fast buck, a little salvation, or maybe just a quiet moment to get their hearts in order. He crams his songs full of vivid details, the kind that many other writers might not even think up but that create a sense of a larger world outside the song.
